I was having a trip down memory lane conversation with an old school friend the other day, we were talking about the good, bad and ugly teachers from our past.

Best Teachers:

Mrs Wilson - middle school, art & design cloud9

Miss H - high school, photography cloud9 again

(damn those attractive art&design teachers talking me into a low paid career with crap hours!... its a good life though)

Worst:

Mr Bull - PE teacher, picked me up by my ankles and shook me up and down until all my money fell out frown

Looking back were your teachers really as bad as they seemed at the time? (or good!)Obviously names changed to protect the innocent & not so innocent.

Best: Mr Watson. History, English, R.E

R.I.P Buddy frown

Worst: Mr Jones, Science.

Total tit, had a nervous twitch and did some really annoying nasal tick. He was also st at teaching and was eventually sacked after trying to top him self in the science lab.

Best: Mr Jolly - massive bloke you'd never cross and hard bd but a totally fair and dedicated man.

Worst: Mr Jackubowitch - real weirdo, apparently a Jehovah's witness which probably didn't help matters.

We had a right of a maths teacher in our school who was eventually sacked for making a move on a thirteen year old pupil. Ha!

However, my best teacher was also a maths one. Hard as nails, but brilliant at what he did and we all passed the exams under him.

Worst:

Mrs Payne the German teacher. I think she wished she WAS German. Actually I think she wished she was Hitler. Uttlery disinterested in teaching anyone who didn't have the potential to be official translator to the German ambassador. What a cow.

Best:

Mr Whitestone. We called him Mr Winestain. He was pretty easy going, but got results. But sometimes he was a bit out of it. Enough, in fact, for me to be able to colour in all his fingernails with whiteboard pen whilst he leant on the desk. All in all a bloody nice bloke.

Wow thats actually quite a dark thing to do!

We had a French teacher that was one of those OTT disiplinarian types that got left over from the 1800's. When she went into the supply cupboard one of the kids locked the door on her and left her there... she had a breakdown and quit.

Best - either Mr Taylor (Music and Humanities) or Mr Brown (English). They both exhibited that vital ingredient for a teacher - a passion for their chosen subject, which easily rubbed off on our young minds.

Worst - the smelly, wonky-legged old witch that "taught" RE and History. Horrible, horrible woman. I appear to have blanked out her name from my memory. Mum and Dad went to a parent's evening once, and I asked Dad if he noticed how bad she smelled; he said "Was that her? I thought it was the drains..."

Best : Mr Jones - German and Russian. Bent as a 9 bob note but you could get away with murder in his lessons. Do what you wanted, which was never alot in my case. Still got an A though

Worst: Mr Parsons - RE teacher. Nitram Snosrap as everyone knew him, even other staff. Absolute barstard. Used to take great delight in instilling fear in every student. Was gutted when some enterprising sixth former hit a 6 on the cricket pitch and it put a lovely dent in the roof of his mint RS Turbo. Only for the car, took great delight in laughing at him. Once stopped me as a second year when on school holidays for smoking. Swiftly told to foxtrot oscar as not in school. Tried to give me weeks of detention for that. Never went once. !
