I was up on my roof today, clearing moss and washing roof windows etc , contemplating taking down an old aerial which I had used until we went digital when we had a new one put up on a higher pole on a higher chimney at the far end of the house.

Just thinking about how best to do it when I noticed that it had two lines of cable when I was sure the aerial man said he had left onely one cable connected, just in case we wanted a TV in the bedroom at that end of the house.

Sure enough, followed the cable and it looks like the neighbour has decided his kids bedroom needed a TV too and he has wired up to my aerial , probably when I was on holiday.

Had he asked I would have had no problem as long as he maintained the aerial, but a bit cheeky?

Would it be vindictive to take it down now as it is doing me no harm except looking a bit ropey?

I'd chop it off and leave a note attached to the end saying 'I'm sat in my back garden, with an air rifle, looking at your ass RIGHT NOW.....'

lol.

Connect the end of the cable to a 13 amp plug, plug it in.

Cut it off the aerial, re-terminate the coax cable in your loft/house and connect to a video recorder showing a video on repeat. (pron/open university lecture/boring documentary/something equally amusing!)

Damn, too slow!

Cheeky sod! I'd take it down and leave it on his front doorstep.

Take one dress pin and push it through the co-ax cable. Snip off both ends of the pin.

You will have now have connected the shielding to the core thereby screwing up the signal.

Record this weeks lottery results, then ask him if he wants to go into a syndicate with you. Buy this weeks numbers next week, play the results down a video fed into the aerial, watch him jump up down with joy thinking he's won, laugh your ass off.

Its not his first transgression with the neighbours!

Last year he waited until the other neighbour went on holiday and installed new roof windows in contravention of a covenant prohibiting opening wondows on that side of the building as it is directly over the neighbours garden. The neighbour had insisted on the covenenet when the barns were converted to make sure his peacefuil glass of wine of an evening wasn't disturnbed by the music choice of any teenagers in the bedroom. The ariial thief was pretty cocky, saying that as the neighbour was an old man he wouldn't notice/do anything about it.

Funny thing is the neighbour noticed but didn't have the stomach for a legal fight so relocated his BBQ underneath the window. Now the aerial jacker goes around and moves his BBQ when the old neighbour goes out, and the old neighbour moves it back again as soon as they open the offending window.

To my knowledge neither has mentioned the window or the BBQ to the other!
