Its a long shot but here goes, we need to find a venue for the works Christmas Dinner but there's a catch. We only have a budget of £25 per head and its got to be in London.

Any suggestions for apropriate venues appreciated.

Thanks,

Phill

4 quid in McDonalds and 21 quid in the pub. Should get you at least 2 pints in London.

Lets get this straight, this is a company I work for, not my company, I thoroughly agree the budgets tight.

£25 is quite mean. I organised last years dept do at Belgos in town and their cheapest menu was about £29 per head and thats not including any booze. You might be better just forgetting about any food and take everyone down the pub and get pissed.

The best xmas works dos I've been to have been with a buffet and a slightly cheesy disco.

Much better than the carp sit down meals I've been to.

Isn't that the amount companies are allowed to spend before the employee has to pay tax on the benfit ?

one year we were allocated 35 quid per head for Christmas party. We managed to sort out department party's instead of company one.

there were 40 of in the department so we stuck the cash behind a Wetherspoons they gave us a private area with bar, and we got pissed . . t'was great!

What kind of food you looking for? I would suggest going to one of the big places in chinatown. Although not 'great' quality you can get a nice enough spread for £15 a go and then you have pubs around soho, casino and clubs in leicester square and its really easy for charing cross, london bridge/victoria commuters.

Thanks for the ideas, if it was up to me the cash would go towards platters and beer at the local spoons. Unfortunately come people seem to thin you should have a sit down meal.

I know its all about getting wasted in front of people you shouldn't but you've got to go a bit better than your local spoons.
