So you've had a bad day...
Discussion
Well read this, it'll either make you feel sorry for me or have a bloody good laugh.
Here starts, I left Somerset bound for North West London yesterday afternoon. Some of you may recall I posted a thread on here the other day - I had a fitness and medical for a job in the emergency Services and was fretting that I'd fail.
Anyway medical takes place Friday morning so I plan to stay overnight in a hotel. I left Somerset mid afternoon and entered the big city shortly after five.
As I pulled up to the barriers for the hotel car park I dipped the clutch to pop her in neutral and the pedal hit the floor. With much turning of the starter I managed to bypass the clutch and whizz her into a space...eventually I sorted recovery and got hold of a VW dealer who booked her in for today.
Rushing about my mind was taking off of todays activities and I didn't get in til extremely late, keys were dropped with the dealer this morning and off I went for my medical.
Thought it was gonna cost me way over £1000, luckily in a sense its not the clutch but the actual pedal that has broken so it's a £300 odd bill.
I'm typing this from the VW dealership and am hoping, just hoping that it'll be ready for tonight. If not I'm stranded in North West London with nowhere to go and not knowing anyone.
I do have to add that the chaps who work for VW here are simply amazing. I couldn't have asked for better service then what they have offered to me.
Oh and I suppose one plus, I passed the fitness and medical so if my references and security clearances are in order it's like I've got the job.
Its just been one hell of an expensive fitness test.
Pity me or take the piss as you wish.

My clutch pedal broke today and it cost a mere £300 and i passed the medical which i needed to do for my new job.
Downside is that car might not be fixed by close of play so i am looking at the wrong end of another £70 + food for another night in london.
FOr the benefit of anyone who can't be arsed to read the whole OP, the entire ramble equates to literally that quote.Downside is that car might not be fixed by close of play so i am looking at the wrong end of another £70 + food for another night in london.
And no, I am not exaggerating again

Actually, yes I have.I drew £2000 in cash from the bank.
Got 50 yards down the road and it exploded in my pocket because a security cartridge had been left inside the bundle.
There was red dye everywhere, my suit was ruined, it was all over my hands and the £2000 caught fire.

what car is it mate, dont fancy that happening to mine!!
Its a Mark 4 Vw Golf GTI T.The pedal literally hit the floor. Something to do with the pedal has snapped and it being a known problem. Hopefully they'll repair and there will be no other issues, then I might be able to get myself home and not be stranded.
Initially I was quoted over a thousand pound for the clutch and flywheel so I'm a lot happier with the revised price...I've got an extended warranty and hopefully they are going to cover the majority of the costs.
I might have to pay the whole lot and reclaim it at a later date, but fingers crossed I'll only be out of pocket by £100. I just wanna get on the road and back to Somerset though now.
