No idea what it'll be like but I think he's a great presenter and should do well with the subject. Certainly sounds cool!

When (not if) Top Gear implodes JM will come out on top. Very likeable bloke (met him twice) and clearly enjoys his subject (unlike the other two who just see $$$$)

James May should be made an Honorary Pistonheader.

I'd love to meet him.

Recording it on steam driven VHS - which I'm sure Mays would fully appreciate.

I'd expect nothing less (or more!?) from you Eric! Top-loader, I assume? wink

There are limits.

It could have been worse, it could have been Betamax - or even Philips 2000.

Very good. I have also been saying that a car would not be build today for exactly the same reasons, so its not just me then.

I thought you might enjoy the Ekranoplan. What a shame he couldn't have a go in an original Caspian Sea Monster, those were just awesome.

V2000 was the far superior format ...

I spotted it too. Also the very blatant reference to teeth whitening.

I enjoyed the programme but thought it was a bit too long and why on so late, children would have loved it.

Very good.

Great to see something on the tellybox like this.

I think James May has a long career ahead of him. Give it another 20 years and he'll still be on the TV talking about British engineering like a new Fred Dibnah.

The Ekranoplan was cool.

The jet pack and the Brit in his shed was bonkers.

The Japanese mini-copter thing looked very promising.

James May was also flying a splendid Citabria ( maybe a Decathlon ?)..A very fine plane indeed - fully aerobatic too !
