If the feelings towards traders are reciprocated over here then it's time for city traders to look for a new job 'cos they'll be fooked. They're gonna carry the can anyway so they might as well start job hunting now - just don't tell prospective employers what your last job was as you'll be as popular as Mike Ashley in Shearers Bar.

Its annoying me the amount of bad press that they are getting. If they had just made every man and his dog a few quid extra and it were fully publicised they would be treat like fecking hero`s. Now that times are bad Nu Labia need to find that "DR Evil" to blame.

With something in the region of 100,000 of my peers losing their jobs, do you really think the current situation is going to leave you unaffected?

shout WAKE UP !!

Think again sonny Jim. The global economy is in st*t streak and any hardship that hits the sharp end of finance will surely filter down to you and everyone else.

Banks going under, mortgage firms too scared to lend money, property developers too screwed to build more houses and get greater leverage.

This whole situation begin last August and we are nowhere near the end of it. This is only the start of a capitualtion.

So next time you reach for your Friday night tinny, just ask yourself, next week will I be sipping someone elses?

Are they badly regarded? I always thought it was a hard job with long hours, good luck to them. I expect good traders are still coining it in as they're mostly clever buggers.

I doubt any of them give a toss what the OP thinks anyway.

the mouth breathers need someone to blame and the government don't want anyone to realise it's them so city boys are the scapegoat.

A friend who works for Barclays Wealth in the City has just called me and said that his boss was beaten to death last night. I really hope it has nothing to do with economic situation!

NO, I am not being sarcastic.

Don't people understand that it is every ''ordinary'' person that has helped create this problem ?? Well i should say every ordinary person that has got a mortgage that they might not be able to pay.... Thats why the products the banks were investing in have lost so much money and caused so many problems....

Everyone is responsible for this problem, and everyone will be punished if it is not sorted.... Come back to me when your employer can't raise the capital to pay any wages and you miss a mortgage payment meaning that the middle eastern associates that now own your mortgage decide to reposes your house.... sound a bit far fetched ?

I dont understand why it is not allowable to give the bankers a good sound PH pisstake-thrashing given that PHeaders take great delight in doing the same to many other professions, sections of society etc etc and when called to account by other members retort with a "where's your sense of humour" type comment !!

The number of threads taking the piss out of people that have managed to kill/injure/maim themselves because of their own stupidity i.e. the DARWIN AWARD threads, seem to get lots of laughs .....

Why the difference with bankers, city types etc etc

1) There are loads of them on here.
2) They (usually) have a net gain for the economy.

is what I said - rightly or wrongly - it all depends on where you're coming from - and yes I believe I know how bad it is - I think we're heading for a depression that will make the 1930's small potatoes

yes Friend of mine who's family company build and run old folks homes also build houses. They were teeing up to hit the 100/year mark but with this disaster coming through they have decided to put housebuilding on hold and just stick roofs on the half built shells and leave them. Very bad times that are going to affect everyone not just the City. You might not have felt it directly yet but you will

Plus it is still going on and getting worse... sort of like laughing at someone as they are accidently drilling through their own hand very slowly with no control of it and not knowing if you are going to bleed to death....

Sounds a bit dramatic but you get my point... If you would be laughing at that happening to your mate then fine, please chuckle away
