I like the Ford Ka, one of the best in it's class IMO.

Edit: What's up with the URL?

I'm sure it is but... £7 million and that's all she could come up with.

It's ok. She will be out getting pissed and preggers by one of a number of gold-digging chav lads and coming to the Jeremy Kyle Show on a screen near you within the month.

I've just handed my notice in, bought some Burberry, and pointed the car towards Cumbria. Wish me luck biggrin

Ford Ka, my arse. I'll show her how to spend it!

Hmm young girl on a gap year before going to study law, wins money, says she wants something that is not huge but probably a big deal to her.

Jealous moron posts on here about deserving it more because he has more ambtion.

Why can't people just accept we all have varied aspirations and say well done?

Do you not think that there might have been just the tiniest bit of tongue in cheek there with my posts?

I'm not really heading to Cumbria.

Just to change the subject a little, how does one receive the cash from the lottery? Does it come in the form of one of those novelty over sized cheques or does it get paid directly into your bank account?

Also can a normal person pay 7 million into the bank or do you need a special account etc

She will need to spread it into 200 bank accounts to make sure it is safe at the moment!

She'll find that when she tries to get at the money whilst at the airport she'll be told that she's only allowed to take out £500 per day. Although that depends on the bank, some (mine included) only let you take out £300.

I just found this out last Thursday...

Well. Possibly not. She's won enough that work is optional - provided it's invested wisely and she doesn't overspend.

It does seem a shame that someone promising enough to be going to study law at university may not now continue that and do something worthwhile in society.

There again she might use the fact that she doesn't need to work for money to do work (possibly legal) for deserving causes that need help and can't pay for it.

If I won the lottery I would still work. What I do and who I do it for would likely change if I didn't actually need the cash.

We should give the lass the benefit of the doubt IMO.

Can't win though can she - if she went and bought a 430 or a DB9 not doubt some on here would be claiming she was wasting her money, would never get it out of third gear etc etc and would be bankrupt in two years. FFS

Seemed to me to be a pleasant tale of how an aspirational intelligent young woman beat massive odds to win a life changing sum of money. Good luck to her and I hope she enjoys her choices.

With 7 million quid you can afford to have some fun.

I would say that this money should be enjoyed, she could easily spend 2 mill on fun things and then live easily for the remainder of her life on the rest smile
