Thats copper to you and me..

Whats its scrap value these days?

Anyone know how much cable is worth, typically data comms (cat5e), and twin+earth 13amp power.

No sooner had a load gone in the skip than some skip-rat shows up and hauls the lot away in Royal Mail sacks...

Thinking of striking a deal with one of the labourers!

not so long back amd also depends on what you have

grade 1 copper around here pipes and stuff is £3.00kg

dry bright wire , stripped cable was £3.80 kg

burn copper am not sure about , unless you have a lot and plan to take it in for them to strip i belive they , strip it then weight it and you get like 60% of what it would be they take the 40% for stripping it

and no am not a picky lol but tke all my old plumming in there , phone round price changes all over

My labourer had 4 sacks of lead pipes, a couple of copper and a sack of cable.

My guess was £40-50

He gets £120........

He gets £40, the site Coffee jar gets £40, & I got £40.

I took a few years accumulation to the scrap yard a while ago, copper, brass, lead, aluminium - thought I might break £100, I got about £400. Heavy stuff this non-ferrous.

A friend of mine couldn't get rid of his old fridge, he put adds in the classifieds but not a sniff. In the end he put it out his front garden thinking it would get stolen, no it was still there a week later. In the end he put a note on the fridge saying For Sale £50 it was gone the next day.

Dunno.

But the only reason you want to know is so you can get it before the Pikeys...? That makes you a, 'Skip Rat'. Am I right?

Copper commodity price is $6384 / tonne, so £3.58p a kg

Lead is $1800, down "a tad" from $4000, but pikeys haven't realised that yet.

What exactly is the difference? I really am curious. What makes davido140, not, Mr Pikey McChav? If I see him hoofing it with scrap for profit, isn't he just another thief?

Get an old flatbed Leyland and learn to shou,t "any old iron". You'll be a proper Gypo then and no mistake mister.

Someone at last that's honest with themselves on PH. Easy really isn't it? What separates us from the 'Pikey McChavs' we so hate? Nothing.

Start from the top.

Not all 'chavs' are thieves, we just think ourselves somehow better than they.

Is it actually illegal to remove something from some-one else's skip? Surely its quite a grey area, as they have disgarded it.

Surely once discarded and skipped, it is legally the property of the skip owner? Or possibly the skip hirer?

I'm not a legal bod.
