Seems to be none of it lately on here. It's all doom and gloom. Blackouts, banks going under, etc etc.

Maybe PH should set up a suicide helpline? Just incase a few people can't handle things too well.

Or maybe people could just give it a rest for a while? We're not all about to die in a huge fireball/economic meltdown this week.

I think the optimists (or at least non-pessimists) are just quietly laughing at all the doom-mongers. thumbup

It always is pessimistic on here. We are much more likely to moan about something than applaud something. Human nature (or at least UK culture) I reckon.

Great post. Nicely put, well crafted and relevant.

Thanks for sharing, it is appreciated.

i am guardedly optimistic if that helps.

i have been prudent and risk averse and I have got myself a reasonable risk:reawrd 'career'. *if* we can sell our house then we will have an adequate deposit to buy a new one - maybe a 'house for life'.

i then only need worry about the chance of losing my job and having a pance retirement because my pension will be worthless.

Life is what you make it, agree there are too many doom mongers around, every day is a new day, new start, and think about what you have in life.

And Smile, if more people did it would make the day a hell of a lot nicer.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic at the moment thumbup

Closed Q3 above the number yesterday, meaning I will get a nice fat bonus in November payroll that I am going to use to buy a summer car. Got enough planned opportunities in Q4 to see the year out over 100% which is nice.

It is a sunny day & I have no meetings planned

My little boy was on top form this morning as we walked him to school

Thinking about booking a weekend away somewhere sunny for me, my wife & our son in the next few weeks.

Oh, and my wife has got the squits this morning, which always make me chuckle hehe

This is all fantastic for me though, cash in the bank when I see something that's too cheap to ignore. Every cloud and all of that smile. Houses are back to reasonable prices and, best of all, it's almost summer. I think I'm going to learn to glide this summer as well bounce: http://www.gliding.co.nz/new_to_gliding

The only way I'd be happier is if I found a summer job to keep me happy over christmas. Don't wait for the moment when things are going smoothly to enjoy yourself, there will always be something stopping you otherwise.

Yes, we do.
In fact it's a bit boring not having anything to moan about really - so just to cheer you all up.
I paid off my mortgage last year.
I have no debts or credit cards.
I'm happily married.
Both our cars are owned outright.
I don't have erectile problems.
I commute in all weathers on a motorcycle...so other motoriststs/traffic don't bother me at all.

I'm very optimistic.

Well the glass is not half full, or half empty.

It got dropped on the floor, shattered and is currently being glued back together by apathy and keyboard warriors.

So you have five depreciating assets, one of which can take 50% of the other four if she gets bored of you.

I'd feel a bit depressed if I were you. wink

I'm optimistic that if there's enough pessimism I'll eventually be able to afford a house.

A friend of mine volunteered for The Samaritans. On her first night on the phones, the whole office only had one call, which was a guy complaining that his cock was too big.
Priapus by any chance?

Im feeling realistic at the moment.... as i do every moment.

No point being optimistic because if the best happens, its no suprise, no joy

No point being pessimistic because if the worst happens, its likely you caused or helped it along or failed to mitigate it with your negativity

..... im on holiday to Dubai next week, got some meetings for roles set up on some of the mega projects, it seems a good time to move in to Risk Management methinks !! hehe

Optimism? scratchchin

Hmmm I remember that!

I used to have some before the Labour Government beat it out of me.

But remember, there is a very thin line between negativity and realism.
