I have been given the task of organising the grooms stag, and an option is Budapest.

Ive never been, but hear its good. Anybody done this as a stag do, or know whether it well enough to recomment some decent places to go there?

Went there on a mates stag do a few years back. We all enjoyed it, probably one of the better stags I have been on.

Steer clear of most of the strip clubs, you'll get locked in and some eastern bloc ex special forces types will relieve you of your money. Only one worth going to is Hallo bar, its the best in terms of quality of birds and you will be safe.

If going in summer there is an excellent open air club (house music) I think its called Rio.. its on the Danube and overlooks the Palace - goes on till 6 or 7am.

There is an excellent Spa you can visit to whilst recovering from a hangover - think its called Gellart or something.

Fantastic place, Buda side of the city is MUCH more expensice than Pest. The river boat bars and restaurants are great and the Mojito's are cheap.

Watch out for the coppers, they have 3 different kinds (that we saw) ranging from thugs with nightsticks to thugs with Automatic rifles.

Gresham palace hotel is the best in the city by far but will cost you. The breakfast restaurant is where the KGB and western agents met.

At the top of the hill on the pest side, 1/2 way through the town on the left is a little pub with a red awning. Goulash to keep you going and cheap beer.

Yep, done that a couple of years ago with my B-I-L. The guy organising it all sorted us out with the local Trabant owners club and got us a morning driving them up to the mountains and back - never been so scared in all my life!

Also, check out Marilyn's, there's definitely worse places to get a bit of clunge action..

Thanks for the help.

Best advice is often which places to avoid, especially after a few dodgy experiances in Prague in the past.
