How could a trip to Marbella be better value than using the school as they are doing now?

plus why couldn't they do this during the kids summer holiday? Seems unfair to pupils and parents to disrupt their education because teachers fancy a day off.

And Spain? As mentioned above, why not just do it local instead of wasting money? numpties......

I think they started off trying to book a venue in the UK, then some c0ckend pointed out that they could fly to Marbella on SleazyJet and stay in a hotel for four days cheaper.

So they thought they'd have a free holiday at taxpayers' expense.

Teachers - the biggest whingers on the planet. "Oh it's so DEMANDING....."

Balls. Eighteen weeks holiday a year and a preset curriculum which you just reel off. Piece of absolute p155.

it's been cancelled at a cost of £20k according to the Mayor of Stoke

he took a proper pasting this morning on TalkSport, as much as I hate Gaunty he gave him a really, really hard time after he discovered they were actually staying in Puerto Banus

Thirteen weeks actually. If they're a half decent teacher they'd be in school for half of that planning or doing admin anyway.

I started a thread on here the other day about corporate "jollies" and some of the replies were staggering. Why shouldn't teachers have the odd perk?
Plus, if any accommodation was required for delegates attending from distant parts of this country then the costs in England would quickly have ramped up.

Its actually a little harder than you make out soovy.

But the fking holiday entitlement is ridiculous.

No wonder we have so many stupid ferral brats, their parents can barely tollerate them in term time, 6 weeks of them interfering with Jeremy Kyle and getting in the way of Mummy having 'uncle' Wayne round for lunch must be a fking killer.

The mayor of stoke was against the trip rather than for it.
He demanded it was cancelled despite the fact that the scholl said it would cost to cancel the trip, and that they had priced up conferene facilities in the UK and this worked out cheaper.

Sounds like everyone involved has been a bit of a 'tard tbh.

repost by the way

Private school teachers can have as many jollies as the parents will tolerate.

Jollies paid for by public money is a bit of a non-starter - especialy if the cupboard is 'too bare for tax cuts'.

2 for christmas
2 for easter
6 for summer
3 x 1 week half term.

Only the ones who won't be in the job at the end of the year actually spend all of that on holiday.

can you give me £1,000 to go on a piss up please seeing as the residents of Stoke gave them the same through paying their council tax?

Don't get me started on Teacher Training Days... (TD days). My childrens school organised a shopping trip to London on one of theirs....

Free day off? Feckers.

And before anyone says that it doesn't matter, it does. TD days are excluded from statutory days for the cover of childcare or emergency days off - since they are booked in advance. Therefore any TD days are NOT covered for nursery / childcare places and you need a very friendly boss to let you have the day off.

And teachers complain that they don't get enough time off and they have to work really hard.

Yeah right...

So, 65 days holiday entitlement.
