House next door is council. We used to have a lovely old dear but a few months back we had a new family move in, complete with trampoline, widescreen TV, 3 vans + car and lots of kids. The woman is the foulest mouthed and goes off at random verbally/physically between 2pm and 4am.

Can anyone reccomend sound proofing? I'm fed up of hearing all the sordid details of her Jeremy Kyle style life.

Sorry my friend but sounds like you need a shotgun rather than sound proofing

Hopefully they'll do each other in during one of their drunken brawls

It is possible for people to live in a council house and work you know. I was brought up in one with two working parents.

Only if you like a stringy woman with a permanent fag hanging out of her mouth and a strong black country buzz saw style accent

Take Stereo, play music loudly. Drown her out.

She'll be round in a flash to complain about the noise too (these sorts of people always do!!), then you can tell her that when she stops making the noise you'll stop.............

Have you got any friends that are in bands? Ideally Heavy Metal? Invite them round to use your front room as a rehearsal studio?

HOW? by that i mean how would you qualify for no council tax, having your rent pretty much paid for you?

No disrespect but i imagine this was a different era?

A council house is merely one that the council owns. I was brought up in one with 2 working parents as well. The way I understand it was that you just rent the house off the council, rather than getting anything free/cheap. They were meant to be a cheaper type of housing any way for those less well off/more deserving (single parents/elderly etc). I could well have that all arse about face though.

Oh no, dear fellow. Quite the contrary.

If she really is an oldbanger, then we are in with a sporting chance. These more seasoned, 'independent' types (driving about in cars) etc, are wont to give an old chap reason to dust off his old chap biglaugh

I bought some of this stuff for my front room, you lose some space but the difference is amazing!

Easy to put up (glue gun stuff) and quick delivery. rotate

Why should you be the one suffering?

Make a complaint to the council about noise pollution/anti-social behaviour and let them deal with it - seeing as the council are effectively her landlord, they should be keen to kick this family out if they're being a nuisance to others.

Agreed. They are very hot on this now.
