Went there on the ramshackle rally, it's a great place but get a couple of taxi drivers to take you round to the best places, otherwise you will be walking about aimlessly for ages. You might as well get a hostel the hotels were overpriced and terrible.

i can recommend this place:

http://www.bratislavahotels.com/pension-zlata-noha...

worked out at £15pppn when we stayed there. clean modern rooms with aircon, ensuites and great staff. much better than the eastern bloc one i stayed in nr the tesco [pink toilet, yellow sink, green bath and raylon everywhere!].

there really isn't much to see/do outside of the old town. there is a revolving restaurant at the top of the tv tower which has views over the city and the forests - recommended.

my favourite bar to date is also in bratislava:

http://www.u-f-o.sk/en/

its a bar/restaurant/observation deck on top of the bridge straddling the danube. very george jetson. don't usually drink cocktails but made an exception here, they really know their stuff.

some good bars, some dire. hope you like techno or metal!

when everything else closes, there is a boat called circus barok moored on the danube that is also a nightclub. there is one place claiming to be a submarine, but is actually a warehouse converted inside.

i can't remember the name of the place, but one bar had the toilets upstairs but with a slide back down to the dancefloor. completely naff but amazing fun after a few jars.

we went for a week's holiday to bratislava and vienna. vienna is an hour or so by train or boat up the river. highly recommend you visit vienna if you can fit it in. vienna is a much better city than bratislava will ever be.

you can also have the stag to bungee off the 110m tv tower in vienna biggrin

ps- the taxi driver from the airport will rip you off something chronic.

that was the one! worst hotel i've ever stayed in.

ps - forgot the mention. for pure lechery the 'coyote' bar out of town is fantastic. 60p a pint and fit bar staff dancing on the tables smile

Remember a series of emails discussing a stag do booking there with a certain 'Rita', who became 'Rita Bedbug' after we read the tripadvisor reviews of the place. Ended up on one of the botels, which was alright. I imagine the OP has his digs sorted if he's offski tonight tho'.

If you want a challenge for the weekend try finding a local girl you wouldn't be delighted to spaff on/in. Betcha can't wink
