As per the title really, where's a good curry house in the Wharf. We've done Tiffin Bites a few times for a quick lunch, but fancy a proper curry. Any suggestions?

Get on the DLR and head to Island Gardens / Cutty Sark - food is about half the price, and better tasting. Or head the other way to Bank. Tiffin Bites is revolting.

Brick Lane would be advisable, but avoid Island Garden like the plague - there is a reason the food is half the price! And thanks for solving my what to do for lunch crisis!

yes

And if you can't find a decent curry there, you shouldn't be allowed out of MaccyD's. (Avoid Nazrul and Nazrul2 tho'.)

Ate lunch at Bengal Village yesterday on Brick Lane and it was very nice as it always has been. Didn't take advantage but they're also doing a very good £6.95 meal deal at the moment too.

Spice Merchants in Westferry next to the DLR is good.
Veranda on Narrow St also good

For a cheap and cheerful the Rajboy on Commercial Road can't be beaten.

New Tayyabs :

not the Wharf, but worth the short journey. REALLY worth the journey! My in-laws are from Pakistan, I took them to Tayyabs and they thought it was the best food outside of Lahore.

No booze though - they are muslim. Can't remember if you can BYOB (?)

Could be a small queue at Tayyabs on a Friday - recommend you call in advance to check.

Thanks guys - I think we're planning on trying a new one each week so thanks for the suggestions, will give them a go.
Today we ended up in Tales Of India near Westferry. Nice food, but the service was a bit slow.
