Are there any ways to get out of a iphone contract? At the beginning of the month a bought 2 iphones one for myself and one for my partner (NOW EX). So I now have charges for two coming out of my bank account. Now the ex has agreed to keep the contract going as he was happy to keep the phone. But o2 now tell me even though he is happy to set up d/d with them they can't change it. So I am stuck with two bloody phones. Don't really want to go down the route of having the ex set up money transfer to my bank account as this ties me to him for another 18 months!

Any help out there or am I totally screwed on this also frown

I had a similar problem but was able to change the d/d to the other persons name. Couldn't transfer the actual contract though so I'm still ultimately responsible but you should be able to change the d/d easy enough.

Will be easier to phone them with the ex present so he can give them his details, you probably just need to phone back and find someone who knows what they're doing.

Not much direct help but a friend of mine worked with O2 up until recently and although not quite your situation, he did mention that they aren't 'doing favours' on anything to do with the iPhone, not even for staff, on account of how popular they are so I guess that the deck's stacked against you...

That said, I would keep pushing them - what would happen if you closed your bank account and wanted to set up another one? They must have a procedure...

Phew. Thank's. The o2 shop did say I could get it sorted out but that I needed to speak to customer services. Like you say. Keep phoning and try to get someone who knows what they are doing laugh

Can he not pay you cash for the Bill in advance?

In fact... fk it... cancel his arse!
Uh uh, no good.
You'll have to fork out the entire cost of the contract to cancel.

ask for the phone back, drop it to the lowest tariff... stick it on egay.... then with that money cancel the contract, pay it off and then keep the change??

Friend of mine recently got £210 for the original iphone.. let alone a 3G one!
