Anyone on here listen to Radio 1? Anyone here this idiot of a DJ talking about his 'jail term' for marajuiana...

Its idiots like him that disgrace this Country. Good on the UAE for having such stringent terms for offences that other countries would cuff away!

Eh?

He got a 4 year sentence for less than 2g of dregs of dope. What are you on about?

At the end of the day we don't want to, or need to here it.

If he was idiotic to enter a Country - which everyone know has a stringent legal system - with it on his possession then it served him right!

I just think our Country could do more to take it off of our streets. Cannabis, the law is so laid back on it nowadays - it can't be right.

I dont think you know the full story (neither do I!) but I remember reading that it was stuck on his shoe or something daft like that!!
He said on the radio it was found in his pocket. I think you're thinking of a different person.

Yes. It was a US military narcotics inspector who had some on his shoe IIRC. Or similar.

Well I think it was in his pocket actually, but I don't think anyone with any sense believes it would be helpful to imprison someone for 4 years (as his original sentence was) for possessing a very small amount of a substance which is arguably less harmful than alcohol or tobacco.

The lesson to learn is don't travel unless you fully understand the customs and laws of the places you will visit.

Great, take drugs abroad, get jailed, get out and still be on the BBC payroll and make a fortune selling your story.

Crime doesn't pay?

Oddly enough, I don;t try to take alcohol into Saudi. You know the laws of the country you are going to. If you get caught, (and yes, he got caught), you pay the price...

You do realise I how little 2g was. It was in a pocket in his suitcase.

It is a very strict rule. sh!t happens.

Oh well. You do realise you wouldn't notice 2g of cannabis in your bag.

Think they were after him anyway, to search to that extent.

An infinitely minute amount of the stuff was found on his person, in relation to the thousands of brits who travel abroad every year and create mayhem, this is a minor, I think you are going waaay OTT on this one.

Some british woman got caught having sex in a church abroad a few months ago, she is facing a lengthy jail term. Not for me to say what the punishment should be but that is disrespectful in any country.

When are the BBC going to sack him? They do it for any other presenter caught with drugs?

He is not a BBC DJ, he was. He is a freelance DJ who is pretty big in the D n B world.

BTW Do you think Angus Deyton should have got his job back?

OTOH 2g is enough to get you smashed, certainly a "recreational dose".
