Hypothtical disussion- putting assets out of reach....
Discussion
This is purely hypothetical- knowledge being power and all that. How could you out assets out of reach of;
1) a random lawsuit of any kind
2) of a divorce (assuming you knew was gonna happen a year or so before)
For 1) assuming putting it into joint names with wife?
for 2) best I heard was buy an expensive but hideous piece of art and pretend was from car boot for £100, then divorce time insist on having it

You're weird.
On the one hand you're obsessed with getting married.
And on the other hand you're a woman-hater obsessed with divorce.

Im 'meticulous' by nature, and not just divorce. I work independently & enter into contracts and have exposure to personal liabilities etc so potentially some day could be embroiled in some legal battle or other as well as other accounting stuff.Better to be prepared- knowledge is power

Is the house in your name only?
Dont have a house currently or a wife hence hypothetical. Just started earning good money (recession immune- just got a rise this week
) a year ago and will continue to increase as studying and working so just curious as to how these things work.Putting assets into trust is the only real way of getting rid of them... but then you'll struggle to get them back if and when you want them. In any case, if it can be proved that you did it purely to get the assets away from your wife / creditors etc then they'll pull them back into your estate.

Will be reading up more on this, did some bancrupty/insolvency modules as part of degree years ago and remember that anything has to happen x years before hence why this discussion to build up general knowledge. No point finding out anything at the time so thats why started the postR5GTTGaz said:
I always thought of getting my sister to open a bank account and then I would withdraw heavily from my account (£thousands) every month in cash and get her to pay it into hers (mine really)
If questioned I'd say it was a gambling addiction.
Rent a house.
Thought about doing that legitimately ie saying I had promised her to suppoort her etc and transfer x amount. only problems I thought are if they then need to declare it as income to HMRC and pay tax on it and if they ever screw up thier business/get divorced/other etc and then lose it and may end up losing a valued relationship on top.If questioned I'd say it was a gambling addiction.

This is quite an interesting thread. I have read for years about poor blokes having their hard earnt being taken from them through divorce. I know you can get a prenup but i figure to ask for one of those in the first place would put a question mark over the entire marriage and how much youre expected it to work.
I wonder how hard it would be to pretend you had very little money (from when you first meet) even if you had a few quid stashed away and keep it that way through a divorce. I imagine it would be difficult to lie about your earnings so perhaps pretend you had spent the moeny even though you were actually stashing it.
Having never been married i dont know how these things work, perhaps it would be easier to agree to spent your own money how you want after the mortgage/bills etc have been paid for. Then again that probably wouldnt stop the greedy b
h wanting half your your car when it gets to the divorce court.
NB. No offence to any successful female Pheaders reading but we all know which way these things usually end up.

You have already stated you are going for a Muslim wedding? Why on earth are you asking about such things?
Once you are married, she, and everything she owns, and children she produces, becomes your chattel - the family courts have now accepted this and will allow Sharia courts to determine marriage/divorce outcomes. Thank Allah (Peace be upon him) for Diversity Co-Ordinators.
If you get bored of your chattel, just go ahead and find a 9 year old child to rape<H<H<H<H marry just like Mohhamed himself added to his "collection".

Now now, lets keep this thread on track and focused, im sure there are lots of other forums on the internet where you can go on about your personal issues
I like knowing things such as the topic I started as never know when myself or indeed family/friends may need need it. Knowledge is power eg currently battling over a contract 'lock-in' clause and beause bothered to find out a while back about restraint of trade etc, the other party are having to back down and change the worrding

I believe the law, the anachronistic law, that treat "ladies" in the exact same way as Little Britain "Ladies" with parasols, is that on divorce the "lady" has to be kept in the same fashion as she was used to - until she eventually re-marries. That means she shacks up with "Winston" who's always available as he's "officially" on the dole, but will never marry because she will lose the massive income you provide.
If you have any children then god help....
On the other hand, if you have always been a tightwad with your "lady" then she can only expect a pot noodle every other week as recompense.

Sorry Mate but this is an extra ordinarily offensive thing to say and entirely unsecessary in the context of this thread. Don't forget we are talking about someone who wants to sneakily hide his assets from his wife...
