yes My dogs have just dealt with the remains of the sunday roast very adequately. Now just pop them in the dishwasher...

But of course if you are a single bloke and own a cat, you clearly are a gayer.

Cats are OK for agrophobics and couch potatoes, but dogs are better for people with lives. They go boating with you, hiking with you, camping with you, off-roading, cycling, swim in the sea with you, fetch what you've shot for tea and best of all help you pull. Being an ugly bd, I need all the help I can get and my golden labrador seems to attract totty like flies. I doubt if you went and sat in the high street with a cat on your lap, you would get quite the same response. . . . .

Dogs are brill at getting those cooked on bits from the roast tray or frying pan.... They persevere for a good hour or so licking and gnawing off the burnt on bits.

Just give it a mild wash with a brillo and detergent afterwards and comes up gleaming.. smile

Of course I don't tell my diners who washed the dishes, but what the hell... smile

I put the crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher, dog does the pre-wash (he's not keen on the home made vindaloo) finish it off with the dishwasher and it's all good. Stuff comes out of a dishwasher sterile so where's the problem?

Have to agree about the smell, though. The dog decided to roll around on a dead porpoise he found the other day and now smells of fish (odd, when you consider it's a mammal) really bad. Bcensoredd likes to sleep under my side of the bed too.

Dogs are brilliant until (as happened to me today) you end up lying on a wet muddy canal bank in your good clothes trying to drag them out of the stinky water by the scruff of their neck (which is hard work if they weigh 30kgs and thrashing around because they've never been in water before)...and then you have to put the smelly wet hound in your clean car....and then clean both the car and the dog again.

But yeah, they're great. Much better than cats.
