For a while now, i've noticed that i wash my hands alot. Now its fairly subtle and i dont think anyone has picked up on it.

As an example, i'll finish work, go to the toilet, wash my hands, drive home, walk in wash my hands again.

Sometimes i'll wash them and then wash them again.

Even now, whilst im thinking about this, my hands feel sweaty and sticky, but to the touch they are not, it makes me anxious and then i have to wash them.

Do i have OCD? if so will it get any worse and is there anything i can do about it?

How many times a day do you think you wash your hands?

Do you ever do it for absolutly no reason at all?

Washing your hands after using the toilet is normal...

Off the top of my head, about 15-20 a day. thats not including washing them after going to the toilet.

I feel the need to wash them now, like i say they feel sticky and wrong, but to the touch they are fine, i dont understand why the feel like that when they are fine?

15-20 times is quite a lot, sounds as though you could have an OCD. My bedroom is fairly untidy at the moment do you fancy coming round for a spring clean?

My boss is the same-she sits opposite me and has washed them about 4 times since 9.00am, thats after polishing her keyboard every morning.

Followed by hand cream as she refuses to touch her keyboard if her hands are totally dry.

Something to look forward to i guess!

Thats the thing, im not a clean freak, my bedroom would be a total tip if it wasnt for the wife. Thats what confuses me, if i have an obsession with keeping my hands clean, wouldn't that mean i would be obsessed about keeping everything else clean or does it not work like that?

i think if you realise you are doing it, its not OCD. we had a guy in the office go on long term sick for OCD and he was acting proper freaky towards the end.

on the other hand it could be part of mrs mclovin's dastardly plan to drive you mad / bump you off. worry....
