...I was meant to find a place for breakfast for four nearish Liverpool Street or towards the south bank (Borough Market way) for Saturday morning.

Basic outline: Mates Birthday, his wife, my wife and me are all travelling down tomorrow night, everyone has booked the bits they needed to book except moi.

I'm not looking for massively expensive place, but somewhere that will serve a bottle of fizz to start the day off as we mean to go on.

Any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers
David

Plenty around Borourgh Market itself.
Just say that none of them book - you just have to turn up.

Alternatively try any good hotel.

Borough Market Cafe for a full english

Then into the Market Tavern, which opens at 5am or something silly to get right on it.

Thought you couldn't get served alcohol before a certain time in the morning? What about a Nice Hotel, Jury's Inn is nice

Roast, definitely. Good food, great atmosphere, and a few pubs nearby for a cheeky pint of decent ale beforehand.

London Bridge tube easier than Borough.

Best place bar none for breakfast in London is the Regency Cafe in Pimlico, but it closes at 12pm on Saturday.

It should be on everyones bucket list.

Thanks for the prompt reply..

I found their website. They are open from 10am but are you recommending them because you've had breakfast there?

st...You lot were quick off the mark.

It's a double thumbs up.

I’ll check out all the suggestions.

And if I pick one of the suggested ones I'll let you know how I got on. Like I say, we were looking to get a bottle of fizz served with brunch/breakfast so that's my main aim.

Saying that, my main aim was to have a list of places to look like I’ve done the research in a methodical, conscientious manner...as if.

Just looked at a picture of that place and the first thing that popped into my mind was 'Layer Cake'.

For christ`s sake don`t go there. It`s a crap italian chain.

There are loads of places in/around Borough market itself, most of which don`t need booking. Just turn up and pick what you fancy, it`s great on a Saturday morning.

I suppose we could leave the wives outside? I'm sure they'll be fine with that?

Tell them to sit outside whilst you get the drinks then let them know when you come back the bogs are broken, they need never know.....
