I'm off to France on Saturday and having read numerous horror stories of iPhone users getting stung with enormous data roaming charges, had intended to purchase the O2 data roaming bolt on for a month.

http://www.o2.co.uk/iphone/boltons

Basically, it covers you for 10mb or 50mb of useage but I have no real concept of what that means with an iPhone. For example, if I check the status in 'settings', the iPhone rather ambiguosly displays:

sent - 16mb
received - 135mb

Is that since last charge? Ever?

Basically, my question is, will one of these bolt-ons sort me out for a week in France or will I blast through the limit in no time and get raped with a huge bill?

Any experience appreciated...

(Mods - can you leave this here for the time being as I'm off tomorrow so would like to sort this out this afternoon...Thanks!)

If you've never reset it, then its ever. I think.

ETA - I'm looking on mine now. If you scroll to the bottom of the page it says in small letter when it was last reset.
