A couple of weeks ago one of my neighbours had the mother load of wood delivered to his house. The pile takes up his entire driveway and must have been a coupl eof tons at least.

It was also in non-fire friendly sized chunks.

This tt has now spent 2 weekends solid trying to saw all this stuff up into smaller chunks. It's the incessant chainsaw noise that's getting most on my tits but the sledge and wedge is also pissing me off.

We live in a quiet street and this level of noise is completely out of the ordinary.

He also drives a toybota pious so I don't know how all this noise and wood burning fits in with his quiet car agenda but I'm on the verge of telling him to fk right off.

My wife is heavily pregnant so she can't even get a lunchtime snooze now.

fker.

Be a good neighbour, go and cut his fecking head off with his own chainsaw for the sake of all the other nice people in the street.

I'm confused about which part of the situation you're holding him responsible for.

She'd never consider a pious driver.

It is a shame you don't get on with him. Chopping wood, drinking a beer and having a chat is very relaxing.

My neighbour did a simular thing and before he knew it there were 4 of his nieghbours helping him. Its what neighbours do.

Sounds like the OP's got higher blood pressure than his pregnant missus.

It's handy to get on with your neighbours. Then you get to borrow his things, like his lorry or his cement mixer, or his paddy bike.

Or maybe that's just my neighbour.

Actually this guy is one of the only people in the street who keeps himself to himself and won't solcialise or even acknowledge his other neighbours. We have a good social scene in the street. I just can't quite get my head round his need to ruin two whole weekends with his fking chain saw.

He might feel a bit guilty about the noise he's making.

He wouldn't be the first person to look at something he's ordered over the phone and think "bloody hell, I didn't realise it was going to be that much".

He might be sawing all day to get rid of it as quick as he can so as not to cause upset to the neighbours he feels he doesn't really fit in with.

Take him over a cold tinny.

Go on.

Go out this evening and get really, really drunk at your local. Come back sozzled from the pub at closing then drink half a bottle of bells or something. Wait until about 3/4am then go and take a piss through his letterbox, defecating on his lawn is optional but quite effective. You will feel a lot better, not the next day when you are hanging out of your arse but probably the day after.

Maybe he's just shy. Some people find it very hard to approach others, but are really nice and friendly when they are approached. Take some beers over and ask him if he needs some help.
If he's miserable, bottle him, and nick his chain saw.

We worried about that when we moved into the street. One of the neighbours said "we can get you involved in all the street activities" yikes

But it turns out he just meant the paddy day do, fireworks night and stuff like that. No front door key swapping so far.

perhaps the wood burning is to compensate for getting a pious as a company car. Having said that i've been told they are interesting runabouts. As someone who uses a smart as a runabout and am restoring a mk1 mr2 as a fun car i can see the point, particularly as you can terrorise people on quiet roads with the hybrid...

Perhaps he deserves a rightly piss in the fuel tank of his saw?
