Jeez, apparently the Hummer's American owner is untraceable? Well on its sun visor are the words "You View Media", Google that and you get the website below:

http://www.youviewmedia.com/

Guess what car is on the front page of the website? Can I have a percentage of the £4K that they owe? their phone number is 07930 571 162 whistle

And the motorbike? It's got a lot of tickets, next time it's seen parked illegally pick the bloody thing up and carry it off and ask for the money before they get it back.

Just clamp/tow all foreign registered vehicles, rather than issuing fines. Job done.

SO if these cars can't be traced...

...what's to stop me stealing a numberplate when I'm overseas and attaching it to my own car?

Parking tickets are a revenue stream, it's got nothing to do actual parking.

To collect from a resident is cost efficient, from a non resident it isn't.

There's a rumor that if you simply bolt American plates to your American car that you imported as an American citizen that...

a) The BiB can't trace em

b) You are relatively immune to parking tickets

c) What Congestion Charge?

To be fair it's probably quite tricky to park the hummer legally. Have you seen the size of the thing? It's taking up like a foot of the road and it's quite close to the kerb.

Driving a Hummer H2 in London is about as daft as trying to land a Cessna 152 at Heathrow

Don't you mean landing an A380 at Biggin Hill?

If they started attaching the tickets to brick and launching them into the front seats I'm pretty sure the owners might park elsewhere, or why don't they impound the cars?

If they can't (I take as "be bothered") to trace foreign plated cars what is there stopping anyone putting foreign plates on their UK car?

Anyway I thought foreign plated cars are supposed to be re-registered in the UK if they are here for a certain amount of time, if some of these are racking up tickets I should imagine they are here permanently.

I do not think country from outside Europe will give permission because they do not care about stupid UK law for parking.Maybe if they were not so stupid about parking then people who own cars on page would not have problems.

Parking ticket or fine from a country where my vehicle isn't registered?

In the bin.

Anything else heard from them, total denial, form letter requiring them to prove it with standard admin fee of 25 pounds or 50 euros with price increases for late responses and follow up work.

Never hear from any of them ever again.

I think it is really good that many people make joke out of strict parking laws for London.
