I'm in the Big Smoke next weekend with an old friend for my umpteenth visit and we want to see something a little different to the usual tourist fodder.
I'm interested in things that the average tourist guide would never mention like interesting old buildings, cool photo locations or just something that is a little strange/different to the norm.
We'll be staying in Lambeth and wandering round mainly Central London and the Southbank so any places need to be reasonably public transport friendly.
I have a few things in mind, but always looking for new ideas.

ideaYou could try any club that the royal offspring go to...because the average tourist certainly won't get in there.

Thanks for those sites, plenty to discover in those pages!
I'd love a bit of the type of woman the princes seem to attract, but my blood just isn't blue enough wink

If yup'rte at south bank, walk along towards Vineopolis and the Clink museum. Have a look at the bollards- they are old cannons, used to protect the clink when it was a prison. When it closed, they up-turned them, filled them with concrete and used them as bollards.

Leak Street? Just off the Southbank it's the tunnel Banksy used for his outside 'exhibition'. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

How about Shoreditch, Old Street & Hoxton? It's unconventional (perhaps even a bit mainstream now), but a good area for a night out. It's a bit of a trend setting area - you might feel you have to don skinny jeans, cardigan and silly hat to fit in, but I always have a good laugh when I'm over there and it's pretty relaxed. Plenty of dereliction and regeneration going on, and the odd Banksy if you are after some pics.

Superb recommendation Sir! I've been interested in Robin's work for ages and it would be good to see some in it's birthplace!
