Well they are a lot more honest than some other "food" on the market.
If you're lucky enough to get some with hair on then they are generally better quality than some of the more processed ones.
IMO.

I bought some of these yesterday....NZ$2.65 for a 50g bag. I kid you not.

The only reason I bought them was, I thought they might taste like 'porkies', a chip they stopped making when I was a kid. I was not disappointed. biggrin

They may be 'honest', but they're nothing more than fat fried in fat. On the othr hand, my dog likes them.

Actually,

coffee
Per 100g;

Fat - Total = 33.6g
Fat - Saturated = 12.6g
Protein - 64.7g
Sodium - 1340mg

There's protein in there too.

Did you happen to have that information handy - or are you eating a pack right now? If so, can my dog have some? hehe

Despite the damage I've done to my teeth over the years, Pork scratchings are wonderous things.

They're not that honest though, the majority of Pork Scratchings are made by freeze drying and not deep frying!

They're still lush though! tongue out

Father and I, being the interesting sort of chaps we are, were having a pint and a pack of scratchings in the bar before a pig producer group meeting.

Worked out the scratchings were 60 times more expensive per kilo than the pigs from which they came. It was suggested at the meeting that perhaps we were all in the wrong part of the supply chain.

Fish & Chips.

The ones that are similar to a bag of crisps.
They are the best.

No - they are ambrosia.

Little known fact teacher explosions are an ever present risk in pork scratching factories as they use liquid nitrogen to freeze the pork fat, atmospheric oxygen then dissolves in it and with the fuel provided by the fat, you have a potentially dangerous mixture.

I'd like to thank those brave men and women who provide me with my favourite beery snack.

Wotsits have to be the best "junk food". When they go out of date they can be used for packing.
