Anyone had one?
Last night I had a pint that didnt taste quite right. Hard to work out what it was but it didnt taste bad enough to send back. Just assumed it was the bottom of the keg or something. 20 minutes later I had a chemical taste in my mouth and felt very strange. This morning I have the same taste in my mouth and feel much more dodgy than the amount of alcohol I drunk.
and no the Mrs isnt into date rape......

anyway, it can't be too bad if you're up at 8am on a sunday to post it on the internet

There's simply no excuse for line cleaner being left in the pipes - you only have to run your fingers under the water you're flushing it out with to tell if there's any residue in there. If there's cleaning fluid in the water, it will be slimey.
Equally, if the first pint of the day is s
t, then the landlord cares more about a tiny additional profit than customer satisfaction. Any decent pub will pull through a reasonable amount (ideally a complete pipe-full) in the morning to make sure that anything nasty in the lines (which aren't cooled, of course) is cleared out.
Finally, if it tases of vinegar, send it back. It really isn't hard to keep real ale adequately.

.Well actually, in a python system they are cooled, up until they get near the pump head, otherwise, totally agree

Magners out of a bottle! Can't go wrong. Check the date on the bottle and all is fine.
It's funny on a night out when you're drinking the same drink, but it tastes different in each pub you go to.
Cider on tap aswell isn't too bad, I seem to remember someone telling me the lines don't need doing as often as all the others?

Real ales don't really go out of date, ringwood brewery came out with a barrel that was over two years out of date and was the best pint any of the lads had ever had! if kept in a cold room it will be fine (but then I do eat eggs three weeks past their sell by date as long as they aren't rotten tuck in!!)

YUCK!!!On the beer topic, lagers tend to be pasteurised so it's only manky lines or line cleaner that'll make them bad, whereas real ale always has the possibility of being a bad one.
