Star Gazing

I always remember going somewhere in Wales when I was younger, the sky was clear from "light pollution" as it was well out in the middle of nowhere.

Does anyone know of any locations that are great for just sitting there and looking up at the stars? (Somewhere in Yorkshire would be handy)

Haven't been anywhere in a long time where I can just sit back and look at the stars.

I used to frequent Llyn Brenig in North Wales. Yorkshire way around Todmorden ? or Noth York moors
