You know the type of person, someone says something slightly humourous that warrants a smile and maybe a chuckle, and this one person, the same person every time, laughs so loudly and for so long as if it's the funniest thing in the world. Why do they do this? Are they just generally happy people and I'm a miserable swine?

Oh, and some people on here too. Someone makes a reasonably funny comment, and then someone responds with 'Funniest thing I've ever heard', or 'I just spat my coffee all over my computer'. Really? Was it really that funny?

I've just read that back. Feck me I'm a miserable git!! biggrin

I like it - you ask a question, commentate on it and provide your own answer in just a few simple sentences.... makes you wonder why you posted in the first place really, or was it just putting "pen to paper" that made the answer apparent? wink

Hehe, I think you're right. Hey, it's Wednesday, I normally play football at 11:45 which is the highlight of my working week. I've not played for weeks because I spazzed up my foot, so I'm feeling a bit miserable.

No, not silly. I think the same, especially in business meetings where everyone is sitting around the table laughing heartily at some really crap joke and I'm sitting there barely able to fake a smile.

I've concluded I'm just a miserable . Or the people that laugh are thick. Yes, that's it - intelligence is a curse...

Hurrah, someone thinking along my lines. I've often thought it's the intelligence thing too.

I also find it extremely dull when people 'circumlocute' (great word). When I'm communicating with people in work, I'm concise and to the point. Work isn't interesting, just tell me the facts.

Out of work I'm a hoot though. wink

I get tired of people that laugh at everything, although i do know a girl that genuinely laughs at even the slightest funny comment, but she can't help it and i quite like her for it.

I used to work in a bar and a couple came in once, it was obviously their first date cos the weapon bloke was laughing at everything this girl was saying, i could see she wasn't impressed by this display of weaponry.

'kinell, you're almost spot on there! He's also a Jehovas Witness, not that that makes any difference, and is a Linux & storage 'expert'.

That goodness I'm a contractor and don't get invited to any events where I might get drunk and call him a cocktard.

Hmm, yeah, I can forgive it when it's a girl. Girls can be giggly without being that annoying.

Its just a general workplace curse, people trying too hard to be 1) Funny, 2) Hard working 3) Clever 4) Popular, you name it, people will always try too hard to be something. Except quiet.

Got two of em in my office. While they laugh at everything they are the two most miserable, paranoid and angry people I know.
