Ok, so we all know its a stheap of a line but for some its the only viable route to work. So why is it that some spanner alaways attempts to jump the pathetic attempt at a queue and cram himself into the train? Got a chuckle this morning though when said knob bursts through platform as if he was being chased, and bundles himself past the other passengers and into the 1/2inch space, only for the doors to close and almost take his head off evil

I do find this amusing especially as i work for the underground as a signal engineer and sometimes have to get on the front of a train with the driver if my fault happens to be trackside, the drivers find it hilarious. It really makes me laugh when it is a man in his 40's dressed in a smart suit with a briefcase and of course a copy of the times newspaper who pushes people out of the way and sprints and jumps on getting his leg, arm, suitcase stuck in the door and on the dot matrix it shows the next train is due in 1 minute! WHAT A PRAT!
BTW the Central Line isn't that bad.....infact most the lines are not that bad, it amuses me how much people moan because to be fair more often than not things work well and especially on the central line in peak periods trains are only 1 to 2 minutes apart. People never remember when it works well only the very rare occasion they have got on a train and there have been delays, very fickle. :0)

Nobody is blaming the service. Just overcrowding, overheating, hyper-ventilating........

Indeedy

I'm lucky in that most days I get a seat in the morning because of where I get on, but getting on at Oxford Circus in the evenings is a nightmare. Made worse by the morons who squeeze on to an already full train.

+1 (yes I know it's lame to do +1, but it's just right in this instance)

Having switched from the Northern to the Jubilee, the difference is just night and day. (yes I know the Jubilee has problems too)

Always annoying trying to get to work or meetings on time. Having had to get the Central Line for several years from Mile End I can only tell you that after waiting for 4 over crowded trains to open their doors and then leave without anyone hardly able to get on or off; by the time the 5th came along I felt like forcing myself on with the other "muppets".

Horrible expensive experience.

Completely O/T, but wasn't there an early 80's funk band called 'Central Line'?

Anyway, being one of those northern oiks, I only use the tube when having to come into London to do work stuff. Up North we tend to thumb a lift from a passing horse and cart.

I have been known, on occasion, to give people like that a little shove back out again as the door close.

hehe Got to get the timing right though!

IMO it's one of the biggest issues with London - a large percentage of the people living and working here think they're better than everyone else and the don't need to queue/wait in turn. I came to London mild mannere and very polite...I'll be leaving before I turn in to one of those pricks.
