Winter coat

Hi All,

It was freezing this morning !

So I have decided to get a nice winter coat that I can wear to the office everyday !

I'm sure there wa a topic a while back...(I can't find it !) I want something quality and fitted...any suggestions ?

Reiss for high street, Zara for cheaper (but still pretty good) High Street.

If it's classic English tailoring you want, get one made.

You can get wonderful winter coats at most theme parks, they are usually to be found in dispensers near the water rides retailing between £1 and £4.

I have a 3/4 length black coat from next, looks good, is warm, but i look like a doorman! at 5' 6" thats not always a good idea!

just picked up one from Makro. £19 and its industrial material... nice warm, but looks smart too.

English Overcoats are the way forward..

I would argue that you don't need to get an overcoat tailor made..

I bought an off the peg number from Roderick Charles on Blomfield Street years ago, and it's still going strong.

Crombie and G&H also do decent off the peg overcoats.

Don't go for a boxy continental cut from Boss and the like... Unless you are carrying about 8 stone that you shouldn't be..

Is it not possible to trawl the highways and byeways and see if you can scrape up enough fox fur to make a nice coat?

I bought an Aquacutum cashmere coat a few years back and it is mega warm but too smart to wear on the weekends - still looks like new

Maybe a Crombie would get more use as you can wear it with both formal and more casual clothes
