I suppose, with it being in txt speak, that kids may pay attention more than if it were in proper English. which for the reason the poster is aimed, i can see why they would do it.

in todays age, its important kids are made aware of the dangers of being online.

its just a shame the kids respond more to it than the correct English language

As I no longer have kids in school...

This whole language evolved around the problem of sending short messages from small mobile devices without a keyboard and limited message length. What happens when someone "solves" the problem?

Boffins we nd u!

Edited to add: That poster was clearly written by people who thought they had learned "txt spk" without ever using it. Even teenagers adept in using this shorthand code will be confused.

I thought it was solved years ago - I can't remember when I last had a phone that couldn't send linked messages??

I even got rid of my samsung because I couldn't find the apostrophe on it, and it wound me up because my text messages are always fully punctuated. Anybody sends me a message in text speak just gets deleted, fk them - how hard is it to write a sentence?

Another point - even if this "language" started because of lack of space on SMS messages - why do people send me emails written like that? There is no space limit on an email?

Maybe the space limit is in their brains.
