I never start topics in here normally, but I thought I would throw this open to the Pie and Piston wolves as it's nearly hometime and I'm confused.

Met a girl via the "are you interested?" app on facebook, got chatting, she seems really nice, bit of bulk on her, but if I want to get out of the desert, I'll have to ride a few camels, right?

So, got her added as a friend a few days ago, and had a look at her profile last night. Turns out she is a practicing Christian and goes to Church, the odd religious concert, stuff like that. She seems halfway between the typical mid 20's ex student type and the typical happy go lucky "young Christian" to me.

Now I freely admit my first thought when seeing the Christian stuff was "Ah bks, I'll have to marry her to shag her, won't I?", but I actually have no knowledge of Christian women, other than the knowing a Christian girl at work who waited until getting married before she lost her virginity.

So has anyone else encountered practicing Christians in the dating world? Or have any friends "with faith"? I definitely want to meet up with her regardless of whether she's a bible basher or a naughty girl (I guess I'll HAVE to meet her to find out) , but am basically confused as to what to expect.

By the way, she has made no mention of her faith in our chats, we just chat like mates, and she DID have the "are you interested" app, which makes me think "Surely she could meet someone with similar faith and beliefs in her church/social circle if she wanted a good guy?"

Advice and derision welcome hehe

Just because she believes in a magic friend doesn't mean she doesn't shag like a rabbit.

OTOH, if she seems genuinely nice and all you want is a scooter shag, do the decent thing and move on.

  • 'Scooter' - Fat or ugly birds, like a scooter are fine for a quick ride but you wouldn't want your mates to see you on one. . . . .

You paint such a rosey picture of her with a 'fair bit of bulk' and religious views hehe

Is it really that bad? You could just go to a bar and ply a tart with drinks until she's on her back. That would be better, no?

On the other hand, I met a girl at Uni who told me she was a practicing Catholic. Then later on, after a few Tequilas, she told me that she was really out of practice if I was interested in taking advantage of her - quite a good approach, I thought..

Bloody hell. hehe

I think the money you'd spend on going out with her would be better spent on a professional provider of adult services.

Ahhh, Catholic girls...... brings back some happy memories, well, until we were caught and her mum chased me out the house for being a protestant (and for bumping her daughter to be fair)

Ah, those were the days..... hehe

I wouldn't just use her for a cheap shag.

Maybe the tone of my post suggested the opposite, but I think she's pretty and very friendly, and assuming she doesn't go all "religious freak" on me, I can see me and her becoming an item.

Yep - Christianity and Catholicism are only vaguely connected. If she's a Catholic you should be all right.

If she's a church-goer, sooner or later, it may become an issue.

She sounds a bit born-again, rather than just runs-in-the-family Christian. I'd run a mile.

I've got an employee like this, and she takes it really seriously. I - only once - tried to debate the literal truth of the bible with her. When I asked her where Noah got all the countless species of animal that weren't local to the Middle East from (for example penguins), she said without hesitation "the zoo".

Isn't "zoo" derived from an Arabic word?

She could be right, you know!
