Myself and squeeze are going to rent a cottage in Provence next Julyish.
Got the brochures and there are some nice looking ones and some where you have to question whether they really want to get any business (Crap cottage, crap picture and crap desciprion..or all three!!)
Any PH'ers got any recommendations and/or contacts?
It is for two people and we would like an old barn conversion type place. Not far from Nice preferably.
Thanks chaps.

Don't rent it to Dan1981 though Puggit. His excitement combined with working rentals out 'per person' whilst wanting to fill it to capacity suggests that he is poor.
Poor people do bad things to nice houses.

You are of course corrrect. I'm very poor. I also have friends who are willing to sleep three to a bed.

Puggit do you have a large bowl at the house? Possibly large enough to put hmmm approx 12 sets of car keys into? These will be the keys to quite old and cheap bangers - typically driven by "poor people"

If that's no good, try the Gites de France website.

Big selection but you'll still probably have to put up with crap pictures.

  • chuckle.
Great style in this post.

Although the others are right, Dan. You're clearly a pleb. Know your place, and stop trying to fit your unwashed chums into Puggers' chateau.

Ahhh - I'm afraid that Le Mans 2009 is provisionally booked...

Those are also the 2008 prices, but we've only increased by £25 per week - and worked out when half term is too! wink

Do you know, that pic of a tent on a heather-strewn moor makes me really, really want to be somewhere remote with a few mates, doing exactly that. Great picture!

Even better if there were a couple of mud encrusted Land Rovers stashed just out of pic. What a great weekend.

If I ever have a stag weekend, if we can combine camping, green laning and clay pigeon shooting, that would be cloud9

Overated, I did that minus the shooting and got paid for it last weekend and was so happy to be home.

Now some foreign mountain range with no mobile signal and then we can talk.

I just got back from here:
neighbours
http://www.peterhobbs.co.uk/villa.php

Pretty lush to be honest, remote operated Pool cover, 6 burner Webber, outdoor pizza oven etc. Nearby neighbours include Keke Rosberg, the Pernod Ricard Circuit and 'Brangelina' who have a vineyard nearby. Sadly, never got to spy her clout as she sunbathed in the Provencale sunshine but you never know...
