Some may remember me asking advice regarding a 30th birthday gift for my g/f. Just booked a few nights over her b/day at the Cameron house Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond. Anyone been before ? If so, apart from bedroom activities, what did you get up to / advise doing when there ? So far I'm thinking about the cruise around the Loch and then some spa treatments.

Cheers.

I would personally have gone for the 'Lodge on the Loch', but the Cameron House is probably a little more upmarket.

If you are a real petrol head and like oily things then have a look at the 'Maid of the Loch' It's a paddle steamer berthed near Balloch being renovated by volunteers. I don't know if it's seaworthy yet, but me and SWMBO got married on it when it wasn't.

There's plenty of little villages around the place, Luss is worth a look and is famous for being the location of 'High Road', the Scottish soap opera before 'River stty'.

There's a fair sized shopping complex near the Maid of the Loch in Balloch and you're only minutes drive from places like Drymen and Buchlyvie which are pretty but there may not be much to do there.

If you fancy a walk there's a public park just outside Balloch that overloooks the Loch but might not be suitable for the type of weather we're having just now.
