Anyone got one of these?

Got it of Ebay and I was planning to use it to record my house CCTV to the hard drive.

Been playing around with it and it looks like it will only record digital TV to the drive.

It can take an analog input via SCART or aerial sockets but won't record them.

Is this correct?
Do they all do this?

As long as it takes a scart (peritale) plug then you can get a composite to scart converter plug from most places. Maplins will probably do one so try that first.

The problem you may face is if you are using a proper CCTV camera as most are capable of displaying more lines of info that your recorder is capable of recording, unless your box does HD. Of course if you have cheap cameras like from Maplins etc then you have no problem as Grainy in = Grainy out smile

CCTV already is on a SCART plug but the PVR only records DTV from its inbuilt DVB tuners.

So you can watch the CCTV but not record it.

Is this what all DTV PVR units do?

Right - having looked into this a bit more it looks like most PVRs only record off the inbuilt tuner.

So the question has now changed to;

Anyone know a reasonably priced (~£50) PVR that will record from an analogue input video source?
