Caving, ever been?
Discussion
I went caving the other night, my first time actually. I didn't not enjoy the experience but it didn't set my World alight either.
Briefing starts after climbing into a boiler suit, donning my red helmet and flashlight making me look like a gimp.
Climbing down ladders into deep, dark caves into holes only just large enough for my body to fit through - at one point I was in what appeared like a cove, going downwards unable to lift my head to light up that in front of me, unable to manouvere my arms to lift myself up and unable to position my legs to push myself forward...the thing which kept me going? Being able to get out of there with my life.
By the end of the 'ordeal' sorry, I mean 'experience' I was covered in clay/mud, had bruises all over my knees and really gotten no excitement from the evening.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the challenge, afterall it was one as I'm not particularly a fan of confined spaces or heights - as such its an adventure but you reach your ending point and what reward do you get? Can any cavers or the like answer this one?
I don't mind extreme sports/activities bungee jumping, skydiving and base jumping are merely items I wish to experience at one point or another and I assume these experiences will be adrenaline fueled and exciting.
Anyone point me in the direction of other such 'extreme' activities?

Yeah, I've done it a few times in Yorkshire, with a youth group I'm involved with.
The first time there were a few 11 - 13 year olds with us, and we done a fairly easy course, which wasn't particularly exciting.
The last time, however, they took the leaders who were there (18 - 24 year olds) and took us on a more varied course, climbing down waterfalls in the caves, crawling through rivers and along tight passages, and that was much better, quite a buzz actually.
I think if I was to do it as a regular thing I'd get pretty bored quite quickly, but as a one-off every now and again I enjoy it.
