posting this on behalf of someone else

I know this is a bit of a long shot, but, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. This is NOT my dog that has gone missing, but I have the same breed and have been asked to help post this message on as many forums as I can , in the hope that someone somewhere may has a sighting of her. Princess is a sable and white ( gold colour ) shetland sheepdog ( very much like a rough collie - Lassie - but smaller ), she slipped her lead a few months ago when being walked by her owner's carer. She went missing from Grange Villa, Durham ( new Newcastle / Sunderland ? ), but may have been sighted this week in Halton, Leeds. She is a nervous dog and this breed can be easily spooked and run away. Full details are on www.doglost.co.uk (including photos ). Please, if there is anyone in these areas on here, please can you keep your eyes open and help to put a few posters up ( downloadable from that website ). Her owner is distraught. I know there are a fair few dog lovers amongst us on the forum and any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers everyone.

To all of the wkers................hope you loose something very precious soon.

To the genuine post, really hope things turn out ok.

Lost my dog to pikeys a few years back, turned up after a dog fight they had organised. died with me a few hours later.

Would love the chance of retribution.

Hope the dog turns up mate, really do.

Shetland Sheepdog judging by the OP, read it later when you have time, you might have a suggestion.

Probably don't have anything to add living in Glasgow and all, but hope it turns up. I'm quite stupidly sentimental about dogs so hate to hear a bad story about them...

I wish I lived nearer so I could pop out and look around. Local dog owners tend to know all the other hounds in the area. Could be worth contacting the local dog walkers? And Vets? Was he chipped?

Hope they get her back soon.

Sorry for the delay.

Not a staffie, an old time bulldog.

Trained to the gun, worked suerbly.

Loyal, affectionate, great with my year old son.

Son fker broke in, trashed the house, took my dog.

There was blood on the floor- i hope it was the intruder and the dog did as it should, and furthermore, hope the wker bled to death.

Sorry everyone, bit of a sore point for me.

Dead dog found in a plastic bag at the side of the road some 5 days later, still had the collar and the tag.

Had been beaten, and bitten all over.

Hopefully if the dog has been microchipped, and at some point it is taken to a vet, it may show up as a missing dog if it gets scanned.
