Prequel - Hannibal was the sequel.

Great film - personally I prefer Hopkins to Brian Cox as Lecter.

One of my favourite films, slick soundtrack (think eighties electro-synth), great cinematography, a great film !

Oh yes - a bit of Kitaro, and some epic one-off tracks by bands never heard of again - "Strong As I Am", from the scene where Dollarhyde finally flips out, being one of them - I hadn't listened to that in ages, this thread prompted me to dig it out again. Whatever happened to Shriekback?
