Advice...leaving the Army, marking the occasion
Discussion
I was wondering if the gurus of PH could help me with some ideas? In a couple of weeks my mums partener leaves the Army after 22 years service, as I am sure some of you can imagine this is quite an emotional time for him. Not only will be handing his ID in on the 9th November, but this is also Rememberence Sunday & his 40th birthday.
We are trying to think of a way to mark the occasion, it seems a shame that after so many years service it will culminate in a five minute meeting to hand in his ID.
Thanks

Check to see if his buddies have organised a leaving do with a presentation of some sort of related gift. (If he has any mates)We are trying to think of a way to mark the occasion, it seems a shame that after so many years service it will culminate in a five minute meeting to hand in his ID.

Organise a suprise one for him in a pub (hire out a function room with bar snacks) and invite all his buddies. Miltiary and civvie.
Then get him a job!
