I have never found either of these guys funny, and it looks like they have made a big mistake this time.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7692911.s...

Another site was more forthcoming with what they actually said.
Ross apparently said "He fked your granddaughter!!"

What a talented chap Mr Ross is.....

All the gory details (inc topless pic of the granddaughter) are available in today's Soaraway-Sun...

That show was hilarious. Some people need to lighten up.

Never found either of them funny too. I really don't understand how they justify being paid so much by that heap of an organisation too. Idiots.

i actually listened to this last night, on brand's podcast. was cringing as I listened to some of it. Parts of the show were quite funny, but I can really understand why Manuel is angry and upset. Jonathan Ross shouting 'he fked your grandaughter' down the phone was really taking it too far - lost a bit of respect for Ross after that

So you think that's amusing do you...to leave a message like that while broadcasting to millions of people, on a 78 year old grandfathers phone? I like Russell Brand, but this was both ill-judged and disrespectful. Not sure how Ross would react if Brand was mouthing off about similar action with one of his daughters in a couple of years time.

Can't stand Brand and Ross is funny in small doses but it Sachs didnt even hear it and his agent was pissed off because the BBC let them have his moble number, starting to stink of a pr stunt for somebody.

Making a story out of nothing

Sums up Britain under New Labour.
I guess that's why they are such popular presenters. Mouth breathers can relate to them.

I really want to disagree with you, and say it was all lighthearted and in the name of comedy but really its just spiteful ste from two massively overrated "celebrities".

I woould like it if Ross had to have Andrew Sachs as a guest on his risibly obsequious "chatshow" and look the guy in the eye when he explained why he felt it ok to leave the message he did. As pointed out, will it be the same if someone leaves a similar line about one of his kids in a few years time?

Spot on

Not the greatest £18million the BBC will spend over the three years of his contract.

The official podcasts have bits cut out of them to keep it at an hour. You can get the unofficial full ones here

The one in question is here

ETA the knockers might want to actually listen to the thing they are getting all pissed off about instead of just taking the Wail's word for it, as per usual round here...

Not according to Sachs Grand Daughter he hasn't.

Both complete s in their own right, I can't imagine anything worse than them as a double act.

Or even his missus, next week. Now that would be an amusing episode of Jane Goldman Investigates wink

Good comedy pushes boundaries and Russell certainly does that. For the most part I find him hilarous. Ross less so but not bad.

I have to say though, I did think this was overstepping the mark by some way.

Besides, the true genius was in his apology:

daily wail said:
He said: ‘It was quite funny, but sometimes you mustn’t swear on someone’s answerphone, and that’s why I’d like to apologise personally.’
But he then replayed the most offensive of last week’s calls, and said: ‘It might not be popular, with its barbershop style, but on the other hand I did rhyme “consensual” with “menstrual

Not funny at all.

We all know Russel Brand is an absolute gobste with the comedy of a three year old after his cop-prank-call stunt. I expected nothing better from him.

As for Ross, he should know better, tt.

And thats why he should be put down

They're both overpaid, over-worshipped tts.

I've recently gone right off listening to radio 2. this sort of thing isn't funny and barely passes for entertainment. When I switch the radio on I want to listen to music, or interesting debate. Not some overpaid disc jockey harping on about what they did that weekend for 20 minutes at a time, briefly throwing a record in there every now again so they can slip out for a pee / fag.
