Is it just me that thinks he is an idiot and an embarrassment to the nation?

Yes, he may be funny sometimes, but for the most part he spouts crap, dresses like an idiot and offends people(the Americas, Rod Stewart and Andrew Sachs) to name a few. He doesn't know when to shut up and his apologies should be worth nothing to anyone.

i thought he was very good on BB's little mouth

he had his own theatrical style and image and it was something completely fresh
and his mad chaotic style really seemed to work well on that programme

but transfer him into stand up, or a bigger situation and he just falls flat imo
just not that funny or intelligent really

Sorry - absolute knob jockey.
Just don't see anything funny about him at all!

Unfortunately this seems to be all you need to become a "star" these days.
Shame.

He's one of those people who is famous for no good reason and resorts to childish insults and controversy to be "funny".

I think you'll find he's actually famous for being a very funny comedian, having the supporting role in a Hollywood film and a weekly Radio 2 prime time show. Seem like quite good reasons to me.

Before anyone who accuses me of not getting British Humour, this guy is a dipst. He uses cheap attacks to get cheap laughs, he's no better than a walking, talking version of the News of The World.

Famous does not equal talented or even good, there's a tremendous number of examples of this both in Britain (The Streets, Kerry Katona, Jade Goody) and in America (Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Backstreet Boys).

Reasons for being famous perhaps, though very funny comedian is pushing it a bit, but still a weapons grade knobend though.

Tried watching Russell brand, his comedy seems cheap, obvious and suited to tweenagers who wanna be sassy n grown up.

And he's a soap dodging, helmet cheddar gobbling, knob fribble.

His comedy is fresh but 80% rubbish allthough now and then he says stuff I think is quite original. It doesn't always work and ends up being the living embodiment of a 14yr old myspacer with ADS
