I'm going to pick up my new project on Friday, but it seems Rossendale doesn't have a train station.
Can anyone who knows the area tell me where the nearest station is or how best to get there please?

I'm a billy no-mates so there's no-one at home who can drive me frown

Blackburn or Todmorden?

Depends from which direction you're coming.

From East Yorkshire. How can crossing the Pennines take 3 hours, grrr public transport!

Is it far from Blackburn to get a taxi?

Accrington has a train station. You could try that.
Then it would mean a bus journey into Rossendale, which is not too far away.

Burnley has a train station too, and I am sure that you can get a bus from Burnley to Rossendale.

Have you tried the planner? It should then show the nearest station.

You can get all the way up to Rawtenstall on the East Lancashire Railway smile

Rossandale isn't a town, it's a valley... Wacky Racer lives that way. He might help...

I live in Burnley which is about 4 miles away from the Rossendale valley, Has previously said there isn't a town called Rossendale its the area in the valley, which consists of various places, Rawtenstall being the main one. depending which train line you arrive on. Preston is the main station near here or even Manchester. You then need to catch the Witch way bus from either Manchester or Burnley http://www.burnleyandpendle.co.uk/

I live in the Rossendale Valley and it is as someone has already said full of little villages so i'll offer some general help first. The easiest way to Rawtenstall (the centre) is get the train to Manchester and then from Chorlton Street bus station catch the X43 bus to Rawtenstall (about £3.70). The X44 gets to the same spot but takes a less direct route. Once in Rawtenstall taxis or a few local bus routes.

Hope this helps but if you need any help let me know.

Thanks very much for the offer, the train takes 3 hours so I'd be getting in early afternoon if yor're free. I'll see if the seller offers to pick me up before putting you out though.
