Evening all,

Boring subject I knw but we need some vertical blinds for our patio door, unfortunatly whoever bodged the kitchen has made it so that the units come out over one end of the door leaving a gap of only 52 mm between door and worksurface at one end.

Everywhere i've looked the thinnest the width of the slat seems to be is 89mm.

Anyone know of anywhere that does not only custom widths and drops but also customer slat size?

Cheers

Try your local hilarys distributor, they did ours, and we have odd sized windows! Goes with the odd people living in the house i guesssilly

I used to have a Hillarys franchise a couple of years ago. Canned it as they were massivley overpriced and the quality was getting poorer by the minute. Try your local supplier, but watch out for sewn seams (cotton rots and comes undone) and nasty wide bodied headrails.

89mm is the narrowest you will get. The narrower the louvre, the more louvres you will need to cover a given sized window.

I think you may fall into the 'unsuitable for fit' category.

Another vote for Hilarys and also you can do measure, supply the measurements and then fit them yourself if the positioning is not too whacky, (sounds like it might be but I am finding it difficult to imagine what you have).

Cheers guys,

Had a look at Hilarys, they can do the custom width (ie one side of window to the other) and the depth (ie top of window to floor)

The problem is the width of each individual slat.... my explnation is poor but the edge of one unit in the kitchen stiocks out infront of the patio door at one side. Meaning the gap between the glass of the window and the edge of the unit is only about 52mm.

Not a cheap solution.
Change patio doors to those with the blinds inbetween the glass.
Advantage, never dust the blinds.
Disadvantage, cost.
