Anyone else find the 'sleep with' euphemism irritating?

What's wrong with saying "had sex with"? It's perfectly possible to have sex with someone without going to sleep, equally it's possible to sleep in someone else's company without having sex with them. The word "sex" is no longer embarrassing or shocking, so there is no longer any need for such a stupid euphemism.
