What is wrong with the fkwits of today? I must have seen 3 cars leave waitrose the other day at 8pm, NONE with lights on. (waitrose has a kinda slip road off a roundabout, so plenty of time). Regardless of me following one with the horn going and me flashing them, no lights go on!

Then yesterday driving, 2 cars sans lights, just driving in pitch black (7pm). 3 taxis with sidelights! Again, saw 1 of them and beeped+flashed, and nothing

I do like the automated lights on cars, but think it'll make people lazy. But every car should have this feature as the drivers are so fking incapable of noticing its dark.

Retest every 10 years 17-60yr olds, 5 years for 60-75yrs, licence removed at 75yrs old, and given free bus rides. It'd clear the roads, save deaths/accidents and make it alot less stressful.

The stupid fking arse biscuit s!

You sound like fun. Do you get annoyed at the queue length next to the till as well? What about the fury at waiting to be served at the deli? smile

To answer your question, yes and I believe they legally have to work to drive on a public highway

Fair enough, I sound like a complaining tt. But lights are there for a reason in the dark, and when people dont use them drives me mad. It makes it hard to see [insert your elderly relatives name here] when she is crossing the road.

They should all have automation, but instead of turning the lights on it should play an announcement that says "if you can't tell it's dark and you've forgotten to put your lights on, you should really consider handing your license back. fkwit."

Or something to that effect.

This is why we need more traffic police please, and fewer speed cameras and similar.

Oh I agree.

But I'm going to turn it on it's head.

If the OP saw the cars in the gloom, was there really a need for lights.

Imagine if All cars had NO lights. Would that be so bad ? Okay Cross country driving in the dark would be erm HARD, but your eyes would adjust to the lack of light.

Just a thought.

I'm not sure that's a good idea, I was a passenger in a friends 205 gti (no distributor) up on Exmoor late one night and the alternator belt snapped. We tried to make it back to his house first on dip's only then on side lights and eventually on no lights at all and it was bloody terrifying, luckily he knew the roads like the back of his hand but even so it was an experience.

Give me 130W bulbs anyday. thumbup

When I lived in the Yorkshire dales I had 100W spot lights on my AX diesel. Fantastic for turning night into day.
