There must be a pseudo-economic 'its a market' argument in this but;
Why don't we asimply agree with OPEC to fix oil prioces at say $80 a barrell for 2-3 years until all thios current s
t is over?
They pump what is needed to trade at that price and we all get some price stability.

We, the consumers can agree that.
Will the nations of OPEC? Will they f
k. Oil, for nations such as Saudi Arabia etc is their biggest export and a huge percentage of their GDP.
They can, and have, recently expressed a desire to cut production in an attempt to force the price up again.
Wrong in my eyes, but there is nothing any of us can do about it...

Airlines do exactly that, but there is stil uncertainty about what the next contract will be agreed at.Why don't we asimply agree with OPEC to fix oil prioces at say $80 a barrell for 2-3 years until all thios current s

Hydrogen cells work chaps. The oil companies and car manufacturers have been shafting us for over 30 years when they knew that the technology works.
They just don't want us to use it.

There is not enough of the catalyst metal required in this world to make enough fuel cells for everybody. They just don't want us to use it.

It's no wonder cure though - where do you get the hydrogen from? How much energy is needed to create it?They just don't want us to use it.

This guy has been selling kits for a while now and I have watched him grow from a school kid to where he is today. People are starting to listen to him. I am starting to listen to him. His last products (which were current until last week) showed a very homemade square cell made out of 10mm thick perspex/macralon but these new cells are quite clever. He sells a whole kit or just the cells. Using Pulse Width Modulation or PWM (turning it on and off at different speeds), he is able to control how much gas is sent to your inlet manifold. So when you put your foot down on the accelerator it increases the amount of HH0 produced. Simple but efficient. You cannot store the gas, so you have to use it as its made.
The claims for how efficient vary wildly, from 5% to 90%
but even if you got 5% back then this unit should pay for itself in a couple of years max, and you can carry it onto the next car. As the technology gets improved so will the efficiency and the prices will start to come down. The thing that attracts me to it is how will the government tax it? They can't. Unless they put the price of water upto £1 litre

why would the car manufacturers shaft us over this, surely it would be in their interest to get away from a fossil fuel power source, why leave part of your sales up to ransom from oil companies. They just don't want us to use it.

the oil companies maybe, but i can't see why the car companies would want it that way.

I understand that America sells grain to many oil producing countries for a few dollars a bag.
They should just put the price up to $140 a bag and see what happens then.
Well done genius. What's stopping those countries stopping trade with America thereby inflating oil prices around the world? They should just put the price up to $140 a bag and see what happens then.

It also makes perfect sense for the car industries to build large cars that use lots of fuel because the two industries continue to grow together. If the systems making money for both of them - why change it?

In answer to B&B, yes, this is what futures are designed for. And you can see how well they have worked in the last couple of years

Because for some strange Reason they want to make s**tloads of cash out of their Oil supply.
t is over? Why don't we get those scum in Govt to reduce the tax on the fuel? That would get prices down quickly enough.
