I have it on good authority there are a few strip clubs that should be avoided if you want to keep any of your money, I'm guessing you'll be okay on that front though hehe

After being recommended by a fellow PHer, I can also recommend this place for somewhere to eat.
www.spooncafe.hu

There are a few threads on PH from the past asking similar questions, with good suggestions. If the search thing is working maybe worth a try. (they might not be in P&P though, try searching General Motorsport as think some originate from people going to the GP)

Captures much of what is there.

As is the case with much of Europe it's very easy to get caught up in WWII and its resultant scars, human and geographical. There's a lot of communism related aspects too, obviously. Much of it is interesting and relevant but can be overpowering and distract from other aspects.

However, the stuff that predates much of the above is awesome. I liked the castle and the trek to the top of the hill (or bus if you pay more attention and save yourself the mission wink) is worth it for a fantastic view of the whole thing. A river tour is cool too.

Gosh. Hello Ferry!!

I'm staying on Andrassy Avenue, not quite figured out the layout of the City yet. I like the sound of the castle.

Budapest is lovely. Andrassy is a nice part of town to stay in. There is the museum of terror at the bottom of andrassay near the octagon which is fascinating (all about the communist rule)and well worth a look in.

Riverside is great, but the view from up on the castle is the money shot.

Loads of great bars & eateries

Another vote for a trip to the castle.

The tube system is on the complicated side, beware.

There is a nice park near the river with a little cafe in the middle for a drink.

The terror museum is a mind broadener, that's for sure. Maybe a little heavy in terms of subject matter. Bearing in mind I was in there within a few days of being in Auschwitz I was feeling more than a little humble by that point.

Terror House +1 excellent http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Terror

Make sure you take the tube its excellent.

The baths are fun however a bit strange to get through all the staff.

The statue park is impressive however a little small I thought, however the bus ride out is enjoyable.

Thank you.

I won't be riding on The Tube or visiting the Baths. That's a cert. No matter how many people said it was great I just wouldn't.

I will read more on house of terror and the castle though. Thanks.

I forgot to add, the Zoo is a right giggle, when I went there was a rhino within touching distance, a parrot that some wag had taught to shout wker, a tiger enclosure with trees in it that overhung the walls (has no-one told them tigers climb well?) and a wolf enclosure that was fed with live rabbits.

Good wholesome fun!

Oh dear.

I'm not a fan of Zoos.

Or visiting things that you can do at home... if you were that inclined.

Sorry Mark but you can keep your parrot that says wan*er.
