Want to pay someone in the US for an item in USD from the UK.

What's the easiest, safest, cheapest (no fee) way?

Can it be done fee free via Paypoo?

Do US bank accounts have sort code equivalents that my UK bank would accept?

Obviously too boring for any replies.

Should have included house prices in the original post.

Various payment networks in the US and the arge number of regional Banking entities doesnt help. Ask who they bank with and post the name here and I will tell you the best way.

A Swift code and routing number should be sufficient for the money to get to the US from your account. Ask your bank for advice to be sure.

BTW 'no commission' usually means an extra fat spread on the fx rate i.e. they still make a profit from you.

As said before .. if its a US regional bank it will take fing ages if you use a BIC code as most of them exist in the dark ages.
