Has anyone called the speaking clock for the correct time recently? I did today and was somewhat surprised to hear a woman pretending to be American and calling herself 'Tinkerbell' offering me the right time.. Now I know that this is election day in the States but surely the BT marketeers aren't switched on enough for this- or do they think that 'Peter Pan' was written by Walt Disney and not J M Barrie. If none of the above applies then I am driven to the awful conclusion that this woman has permanently replaced that nice, safe, very Home Counties chap who was sponsored by 'Accurist'.
One further small victory for the 'Special Relationship'? I phoned BT and finally managed to speak to a customer advisor who said that he was appalled by this change (or perhaps he just wanted to get rid of me?)
I then phoned my wife, who told me to (a) get on with my work and (b)get a life.
Do you think that we could start a countrywide crusade to reinstate 'Mr Accurist'? Does anyone out there care? I know that this is essentially a site for car enthusiasts but most cars have clocks, don't they?
Just exactly what makes BT tick? I think we should be told...
NB I've just 'googled' The Speaking Clock' and we have to put up with this for three months, the BBC has done a deal with Disney to promote their new film. With the dosh from this plus the rebate on Wossie's salary, perhaps we should be pressing for a cut in licence fees in the New Year? Sorry to have wasted your time but I was so worked up that I typed all this before I checked- what else would you expect of a newbie?

I'm not with Orange, i'm with T-Mobile, i dont get any signal anywhere so i can't hear peoples annoying VM / can't connect voices.
If your on 3 network & need technical help you call them & they put you through to Bombay.
Good luck getting any help with them as you need a degree in Arabic to be able to understand them!

Dialed 123 for the first time today. OMG!!!

How awful is that voice. Really not what I want to hear when phoning the speaking clock. I'm tempted to complain.

Reading the title of this thread I thought I was in General Motorsport looking at a James Allen topic.

Why do you listen to it 3 or 4 times a day? How thoroughly bizarre.

That and bits of my job happen at very specific times and I'm visually concentrating on a computer screen or two. So having an audio countdown is much better.

Oh how I hate this tinkerbell creature.
