Fuel costs rise in the UK rip off....

I heard today that whilst Gas and Electric has gone up between 35 and 45% in the UK this year, its only gone up 14% in France and 12% in Germany.

So i'm feeling more ripped off than usual.

The french government capped the prices so that the uk had to get the rest. Also the idiots in the eu treat gas and all that like oil at the same price.

France is 80% nuclear power, so it's hardly surprising.

But the French own the utility companies. surely they wouldn't exploit us in that way?

When the tories sold off the gas and electric companies they, like the French govt, retained a golden share so the govt could stop the private energy companies raising prices to whatever they liked. Gordon Brown sold off the golden shares for a pittance leaving the British energy customer at the whim of foreign controlled companies.
